BERNARD NDONG QUITS CITIZEN TV AFTER 13 YEARS

By  |

Citizen TV sports news anchor Bernard Ndong has bid farewell to Royal Media Services after 13 years.

On Saturday, Bernard held his last bulletin after which he was treated to a surprise farewell cake and messages from his colleagues. “I have tried to write down what I need to say because I’m away for WRC Safari Rally but I cannot find the words. It’s been a roller coaster with you on the desk.

The first day you came from sales and we’re going to the studio for a screen test and you said ‘can I join?’ and I remember it was three weeks of hard training and when I sent the clips to our then boss Farida Karoney, she said I take you for sports. You have developed to be one of the strongest people I have worked with. Farewells are never easy and we wish you all the best,” said Sports Editor Mike Okinyi.

Waihiga Mwaura shared memories of their friendship journey. “To me you are a brother and you know, the journey that we started together 13 years ago. I remember when we once went out for this trip and there was nowhere to sleep and I slept on a table. That’s the kind of friendship we built from then. The Citizen sports desk will not be the same and wherever you go, may God bless you, may you shine and just know there are people cheering you on.”
