MUSICIAN DR MUMBI SERAKI ACCUSES JULIE GICHURU OF BLOCKING BLACK NEIGHBOURS FROM ACCESSING THE BEACH IN DIANI

Musician and content creator Dr Mumbi Seraki has taken to Twitter and accused renowned media personality Julie Gichuru, of blocking black neighbours from accessing the beach in Diani. Dr Mumbi says the issue started when Julie took over the management of Mzima House.

“We’re also experiencing our own discrimination here @MzimaHouseDiani, where apparently  @JulieGichuru took over management then went ahead to block her black neighbours behind her from beach access, which is not only illegal BUT another sad example of black on black hate.

So @JulieGichuru apparently moved to @MzimaHouseDiani to ‘escape’ the city life a few months ago, and she came w/her own state house security & bodyguards, fam, like WTF? She went on to immediately block the neighbours who’ve had beach access for over 12yrs: reason? They were ‘watus.’

So apparently, the neighbours were told some VVVIPs would be staying there, and they have to be protected from the ‘common folk’ who posed a threat to them.” She wrote.

According to Dr Mumbi, Gichuru’s actions have impacted the local people of diverse ethnicities, and the authorities should step in and censure her systemic racism that has seen many employees lose jobs in the resort. “So having heard these complaints from the neighbours and the locals, I went and had a chat with Mr Charles Wafula, who is the manager right now @MzimaHouseDiani, and he explained to me how @JulieGichuru and the mother had caused havoc since they moved in…many have been fired.” She added.

She also said the ex Citizen TV news anchor has refused to meet with her neighbours, “I share this story to illustrate that Kenya’s racist problem like what was seen at #Alchemist is much deeper than just a race. At the root of it all is the elitist mentality of so called ‘untouchables’. who treat their own people like absolute SH*T and never get called out. @JulieGichuru has refused to meet with her neighbour who is not a rich mzungu or elutist but a hardworking ‘normal’ Kenyan because she feels superior?

Mind you the lady has had access to the beach since she bought the property from @MzimaHouseDiani some 12 years ago.  But because. She doesn’t have a name, or a Godfather… her and her residents are getting bullied by @MzimaHouseDiani management out of their rights. Like most Kenyans dealing with the elite, the lady has given up. But we as Kenyans must stand up for our rights.” Julie has not responded to the allegations.
