MUSICIAN NINA OGOT SPEAKS ON RELATIONSHIP WITH WINYO

Musician and TV personality Nina Ogot has talked about her marriage to Benga musician Winyo Shimpton. 

Speaking in an Interview, Nina revealed they got married at the Attorney General’s office eight years ago. “The wedding was over eight years ago and we have kept it that way. There are certain things like relationships and health which are personal and they are better kept silent. 

When I was small I never really saw myself doing a grand wedding so the way we did was true to us because we never wanted anything huge or fancy. There is something overrated about big weddings, first why are we wearing a white dresses? Weddings are overrated, people spend fortunes and after a year or two they are divorced or have bills. 

Though there have been rumours of their split, Nina did not confirm or deny it, “We are on good terms and we do our best. Winyo is fine, I heard that he has done a release with Suraj and he is also trying to mix his benga sound with more contemporary rhythms. Good stuff, he is still going strong in his music and producing interesting stuff.”

She also opened up on raising her eight year old daughter, “She is now eight years, I tried giving her music lessons and one day she told me she is not a musician. I don’t know what that means, but it’s good to allow her to explore other things than to force her to be a musician.”
