REFIGAH MEETS BRIGHT ATIENO A STUDENT HE SUPPORTED
Kibra MP aspirant and the CEO of Grandpa record Refigah has finally met the student he supported.
Refigah paid college school fees for Bright Atieno who graduated on Monday, May 30. “Today I bring to your attention the moving story of Bright Atieno Mbeda whom I met online after a video she recorded of herself highlighting her plight while seeking for assistance from Jalang’o was posted online by Robert Alai. I was touched by her story and commented asking Alai to help me get in touch with her which he did and she got in touch. Well, this lady was born and raised in Sinai slums, Makadara constituency, Nairobi county,” he said.
Adding, “At the time her story was brought to me I had no intention of seeking public office but because I’m passionate about transforming lives, I felt compelled to act. Bright dropped out of school in form 2 due to lack of school fees and at the tender age of 22 she was already a single mother as the man who impregnated her was a deadbeat dad. After our interactions I asked her to choose a deejaying school of her choice and she settled for Bling Deejaying School. I reached out to the management, paid her fees and she commenced classes immediately” He said.
In celebration of her graduation, he took her for lunch at Tamambo in Karen, “I am here to report that Bright Atieno graduated Monday, 30th May 2022 and yesterday, 31st May 2022 we met for the first time for lunch at Tamambo Karen. Her dream is now to work at any local radio station, a dream we’ve agreed to pursue together. As an emerging leader, I am sharing this story as a motivation to fellow leaders that transforming lives should not be a collateral or consideration for seeking office. I had no political ambition when I first started empowering Bright and even now as a leader seeking elective position in Kibra. Bright is not a voter in my constituency but a deserving Kenyan whom I chose to empower.”
