SOCIALITE MISHI DORA SAYS HER KIDS WERE TAKEN TO AN ORPHANAGE

By  |

Nairobi Diaries star Mishi Dorah has disclosed that she was jailed for 38 days because of her an unpaid alcohol bill.

Speaking in an interview with Dr Ofweneke, she said she thought the drinks were free, “Apart from acting, I host gigs in the clubs. I had a deal with Golden Ice Bistro and they told me they don’t pay artistes but they will cater for my drinks, 2 bottles of Hennessy and Belair worth Sh46,000. After we finished the first round, the hostess asked me if we wanted another round and I told her to bring but after a while they brought the third and fourth round of drinks and I wondered who had ordered but we continued to drink.”

The mother of three confessed only one of her friends helped her while she was in jail, “I was in for 38 days and only one person came through for me, her name is Sabrina and she has been there for me even when I was sick. Prison is hell.

Though she has not cleared her debt, her first priority is to get her kids,“I am not okay, right now I am not with my kids. They were taken to the orphanage because I was in prison. I was also locked out of my house because I had not paid rent but I am going to bounce back because I am a woman who never gives up easily. My first priority is to get my kids and house back.”

Mishi was charged in court in mid May after failing to pay Sh152,550 club bill. Mishi allegedly dined and drank expensive liquor with a group of friends at Golden Ice Bistro in Nextgen Mall and could not pay the bill.

According to court records, Mishi is accused of ordering:

  • 6 bottles of Belaire Luxe 750ml- Sh75,000
  • 7 Hennessy VS 750ml-Sh70,000
  • 2 chicken breasts-Sh3,000
  • 1 cocktail drink-Sh2,000
  • 3 bottles of Redbull energy-Sh1,650
  • 2 bottles of 300ml coke-Sh500
  • 1 litre bottle of mineral water-Sh400

According to reports the socialite said her bank card was the cause of her problems and that’s why she was unable to pay. She denied the charges before Kibera Law Court magistrate Monicah Maroro and was released on cash bail of Sh50,000 and an alternative bond of Sh100,000. In April this year, Mishi flaunted a bill worth Sh204,000 she spent on alcohol.
