‘OUTDATED TRADITIONS’ NAMELESS CLAPS BACK AT FAN ASKING HIM TO GET A SON FOR HIS ‘LEGACY’
Celebrated musician Nameless has reacted to a fan who encouraged him to try getting a son to avoid losing his legacy. “Tafuta Kijana boss (Get a son). Your legacy, we are Africans,” said Dalphine Memba.
The father of three responded saying he wants his legacy to be a father of three beautiful girls, “I really want my legacy to be a father of three beautiful girls filled with wisdom, humility and compassion. Who live a responsible life that creates peace and joy for them and for others around them. For them, that is the vision I am working towards.”
Adding that some traditions are outdated and people need to evolve, “Saa zingine tunajiangisha na traditions that are outdated. I understand that we have been taught to follow our culture or tradition without question, but the truth is we are supposed to use our wisdom to identify the parts of our culture that are unfair or unprogressive and let them go, as we adopt more progressive, fair and better ways of thinking and living. Cultural evolution is where my leadership flourishes.”
On why he responds to negative energy, “My job is different from yours. I sometimes have to respond to negative energy to show others why it is negative and how to respond to it.”
Nameless and his wife Wahu Kagwe last week welcomed their third baby Shiru. He revealed that they named the little girl after his eldest sister Rosemary Mutunkei, according to Kikuyu tradition, “This is 5mins after she was born. My first earthly connection with my third born Daughter, Shiru, named after my eldest sister Rosemary according to Kikuyu tradition. We’ll also give her an African name soon. Thank you for your prayers and well wishes! Shiru is healthy, beautiful and very alert.”
