CHEBET ROHO REVEALS SHE’S A VICTIM OF GENDER-BASED VIOLENCE

Radio presenter Chebet Rono has revealed that she is a victim of gender-based violence (GBV).

Taking to Instagram on Thursday, February 15, Chebet said the incident happened two weeks ago,  “I know I haven’t created in a while. I experienced two dramatic things 2 weeks ago (GBV/police followed up as well as robbery with violence near experience). I love creating and I promise to be back better than ever thank you.”

Earlier this month Roho has opened up about her battle with anxiety. The radio host highlighted how this year has been hard on her, “This is a journey I am so proud I started and I know I’m always posting self love/self care moments although I have really still been going through it especially this year. I genuinely am doing better physically and mentally although I still experience anxiety /social anxiety and going back to toxic coping mechanisms and habits I vowed to stop or end.”

Roho vowed to persevere through hard times, “I’m such a perfectionist and a go-getter that I am often hard on myself especially when I repeat a mistake but that’s the lesson I am embracing to love myself through evolution regardless of how I  may let myself down sometimes and that’s okay! Not everyday is laughter and happiness but perseverance to not let go and hold on. I must allow myself to be at peace within for life to ebb and flow.”
