‘DAD WAS ALWAYS AVAILABLE’ GEORGE MAGOHA’S SON MICHAEL PAYS TRIBUTE TO HIM

Dr. Michael Magoha has paid an emotional tribute to his late father Prof. George Magoha. 

Speaking during his requiem mass, Michael said his father always had time for his family, “All through my life if I ever needed my dad he was available. It didn’t matter if he was a surgeon or a cabinet secretary and that is because he believed in family and it was always the same. If he can talk, he talks immediately. If he can’t, Immediately he finishes he comes to me and that’s for 38 years of my life.

He always kept it simple, he always told me, “do what you are supposed to do when you are supposed to” and that’s all he did. Family is the most important thing, you never know when you have time, he knew it and he gave me time.”

He went on to add, “He told me if somebody stands behind you, you protect them, if they stand beside you regardless of their political affiliation and religion you respect them and if anybody stands in front of you to push you back, you you smile and look at the people beside you and behind and show them the strength that you have.”

Magoha passed away on January 24 at the Nairobi Hospital aged 71.
