DR CATHERINE MASITSA SHARES YEARS-LONG STRUGGLE WITH HAIR LOSS
Real Housewives of Nairobi star Dr Catherine Masitsa has opened up about battling Alopecia.
Speaking on the latest episode of the show, Masitsa said the condition is the reason why she rocks a bald look, “For me the reason why I have short hair is because I suffer from alopecia. Which is a scientific term of losing hair. But in my culture we say women who have a bald head are very rich women.”
Alopecia is a disease that happens when the immune system attacks hair follicles and causes hair loss.
In her debut episode, Catherine talked about her parents divorce, “I was born in Western Kenya at the age of three my parents divorced so I was raised by my father and that makes me who I am.”
In a past interview, Dr Catherine spoke about joining the show late, “It’s been an eye opener interacting with them, from creating real friendships to friendships being tested. I had my assumptions about them but the more I interact with them in such close, intimate spaces, the more I really get to know them – their frailties, fears, triumphs and personalities, and not what we read about. You get to see that they’re solid people. Everybody is so real and living their lives.”
