DP RIGATHI GACHAGUA HANGS OUT WITH SAUTI SOL AND DAVIDO IN BOTSWANA
Deputy President Rigathi Gachagua and his wife Dorcas Gachagua on Monday, April 24 hosted popular Kenyan band, Sauti Sol in Gaborone, Botswana.
According to the DP, they discussed how they can empower young people in the country, “Yesterday evening, Pastor Dorcas Rigathi and I hosted members of the popular Kenya Boys band Sauti Sol in Gaborone, Botswana. They are participating in the Forbes 30 under 30 Africa Summit.
We had an enriching conversation on empowerment of our youth and the role they, as mentors in their industry and elsewhere, can play in helping vulnerable young people nurture and sharpen their talent to fruition. We also explored possibilities of working together to guide and help rescue young people lost in illicit brews and substance abuse so that they can lead meaningful lives.”
Gachaugua represented the president at the Forbes Under 30 Africa Summit, “It was exciting speaking to tens of energised and focused youth in entrepreneurship yesterday in Gaborone, Botswana where I represented our President H.E William Samoei Ruto. Indeed, the second edition of the Forbes Under 30 Africa Summit rekindled my memories on how I entered business while at the University of Nairobi. Despite securing formal employment, I remained focused and determined to succeed in business.
I seized the moment to prevail upon the Continent’s youth to take charge of their ideas, and incubate them to maturity. They must take advantage of governments which have given them latitude and created an enabling environment for business. They must grab and fly with the opportunities, remain resilient until they break even. I was delighted to share the platform with the Vice President of Namibia Dr. Nangolo Mbumba and Nigeria’s Minister for Sports Development and Development Mr. Sunday Dare.”
