Gideon Moi’s son Kigen Moi has been the topic of discussion after his father announced he is engaged to the love of his life Rebecca Chechumba. Buzz Central has compiled interesting facts about the politician’s son.

Kigen is the second born son of Gideon Moi, he has an elder brother Kimoi and a younger sister Lulu.

He recently engaged his girlfriend Rebecca Chepchumba at a traditional ceremony held in Kericho County. His father congratulated them on social media, “I am proud of my son Kigen Moi for making a monumental stride in this life by seeking Rebecca Chepchumba’s hand in marriage. Indeed, this engagement is a beautiful social and spiritual venture ordained by God to ensure companionship and continuity. As they begin formalising their  union today in Kericho County, I pray that God’s grace, guidance and blessings be always upon them,” Gideon tweeted.

The former senator’s son is the company director of Sosian Energy which develops sustainability based renewable energy projects across Kenya. The company was awarded a tender by Geothermal Development Corporation (GDC) through competitive bidding to install and operate 1x35MW Geothermal Modular Power Plant in Menengai Geothermal Field in Nakuru County for 25 years on a Build – Own – Operate (BOO) basis.

Kigen is into philanthropy, In July 2022, just before the August 9 General Elections, he donated boda bodas to associations in Marigat, Kabarnet and Kabartonjo.

He enjoys playing polo professionally, In 2014, at the Nanyuki Polo Challenge Cup, Kigen battled his dad. His team, Samsung Tab 4 emerged victorious over his dad’s team Samsung NotePro 5.

His grandfather was the second president of the Republic of Kenya, the late Daniel Toroitich Arap Moi.

He studied at Bristol University in England.
