RUGBY STAR BIKO ADEMA TALKS ABOUT HIS TRADITIONAL WEDDING

Celebrated Rugby star Biko Adema has opened up on his relationship with longterm girlfriend Wanjiru Ng’ang’a.

Speaking to Nailantei Kenga on her show Art of Living, Biko said their relationship started in 2019, ”We met at a local fast food joint and it was one of those moments I saw her, I was star struck and I just said I need to man up. I approached the friend and asked her if I could talk to her friend and one thing led to another and we are here now.”

The rugby player proposed to her in November 2022 and later tied the knot in a traditional wedding, “I took her on a date to Windsor hotel, we had been given a normal room but I had already arranged with the manager to stay at a special room. We went for dinner while the suite was being prepared, I had given the ring to one of the hosts so that she could not find it. When I cued him, he brought the ring. I was quite confident when proposing to her but I was nervous about the planning of the proposal. She said yes. I also had organised a photographer to be there.”

Adding, “On our Ruracio, my father gave me a book ‘100 years of rugby in Kenya’, he signed it together with the author.”

Biko who is now a teacher at Braeburn school says teaching has made him more patient, “Before I joined Braeburn, I was working at Banda School coaching rugby. While I was doing that and learning how to teach other sports. The school took me in and decided to sponsor me to do an International teaching course. I took the offer and did the course in Nottingham University for a year. When I graduated I happened to leave Banda School and Braeburn was looking for someone. The kids have taught me patience and not all of them learn at the same speed.”

Though he retired from professional rugby, he plans to come back and play for his club, “I don’t play for the national team anymore but occasionally I play social rugby at my club. I tried to get back and play competitively this season for my club but I had a knee injury that did not allow me to do that so it is still something I’m trying to sort out.”
