SONKO’S DAUGHTER SAUMU ON DATING A KIENYEJI

Sonko’s daughter Saumu Mbuvi has talked about her first relationship while in campus.

The mother of two said her first boyfriend was a kienyeji and was not exposed to a lot of things, “I had my first boyfriend in campus when I was finishing fourth year. Coming from the family I am from, it was bringing  unnecessary attention because some men had hidden agendas. They would introduce me as Sonko’s daughter and not use my name Saumu. I turned down a lot of guys.”

She added, “My first boyfriend was a principled guy though alikuwa mshamba but he was raised well. He was a real kienyeji, he never drank alcohol or did any drugs, he was a church guy and by that time I was already exposed. Then I wanted to date someone who was the opposite of me and he was the right candidate.”

On lessons she has learned about relationships, she said, “You don’t have to overthink and over your life, what is meant to happen shall happen and you just let it flow. Who is meant to be in your life will stay.”
