DJ JOE MFALME LANDS NEW RADIO JOB

By  |

Popular deejay Joseph Munoru, alias DJ Joe Mfalme has landed a new job at NRG Radio.

DJ Joe Mfalme made the announcement online, “The beginning of tomorrow is today! 01.08.23 Catch me live on @nrgradiokenya from Monday to Thursday 10 p.m. on #NRGAluta If you don’t know, now you know!”

After being fired at Homeboyz Radio in March 2021, the popular deejay opened up on the challenges he faced saying his comments were misunderstood, “It was a misunderstanding. The words that came out of my mouth were how it took time for me to get a wife. I was answering a question but Shaffie had already led the conversation. Someone like Neville didn’t say anything but unfortunately he was also involved,” said Joe.

He also disclosed that he got a gig at Eminem’s radio station about three weeks after being fired, “We left Homeboyz and three weeks later I’m on Eminem’s station. I was called and I did a really dope set, I’ll never forget that day,” he added.

The DJ alongside radio presenters Shaffie Weru and Neville Musya were fired over gender insensitive remarks they made on air during their breakfast show. In a statement, Homeboyz Radio said the decision was reached after a comprehensive review of the comments made by the presenters. The Radio Africa-owned radio station also said the topic in discussion was neither approved nor authorised by the management, adding that it had established that the conduct of the three constituted gross misconduct leading to a breach of the company’s editorial policy.
