ESTHER PASSARIS REVEALS STRUGGLE WITH HAIR LOSS

Nairobi Woman rep Esther Passaris has disclosed personal details about a rare condition she has been fighting. 

According to the politician, she has been struggling with hyperthyroidism, a condition that causes hair loss and affecting people with no thyroid, “So somebody mentioned yesterday, ‘Oh, I just noticed on your video your hair is thinning.’ My hair is thinning and the reason is because I don’t have a thyroid, and sometimes my thyroid thyroxine levels get low and my hair of course thins.” 

Passaris encouraged women facing similar challenges to love themselves, “I’m also going to be 60 next year. Obviously you’re going to have to lose some hair. But this is the thing, no matter what you’re going through in life, you’ve got to love yourself. You’ve got to look at yourself in the mirror every morning and just say, I love you, no matter what. Because once you love yourself, you can pick up any other pieces and move on with it.”
