Popular TV producer Daudi Anguka has opened up about his difficult childhood.

Speaking to Cheptoek Boyo on Buzz CentralAnguka said his mother hustled to pay his school fees. “My primary schooling was difficult, I started in Mombasa but we had challenges and had to move to Bondo where I went to Atilili Primary School. In class two I started hawking samosas with mum, when I reached class four, mum decided we should go back to Mombasa and I joined Mikindani primary.”

Adding, “After I finished primary, she could not afford to take me to high school but she struggled and I was able to join high school in Homabay at the end of second term. In form 2 mum moved me back to Mombasa and I went to Kajembe High School where I finished my form 4. After that I hustled and I was later sponsored by UNICEF to pursue a course in film.”

The Sanura producer also talked about losing his mother, “My mum really hustled but I thank God when she was alive she was able to enjoy the fruits of her labour. When I succeeded I made sure she boarded a plane and enjoyed other things. Whenever I had stress she was the first person I would call. Right now I ask myself who will I call? When I see her photos I get so emotional, I really miss her. If I knew she was about to pass away I would have spent a lot of time with her. There was a time she was sick but I told her she would get well but she passed on.
