WHY CHEF MALIHA MOHAMMED IS YET TO BE RECOGNISED BY GUINNESS WORLD RECORDS
Chef Maliha Mohammed who broke the world record for the longest cooking marathon has explained why she is yet to receive recognition by the Guinness World Records.
According to Maliha, it will take 12 weeks since she couldn’t afford to pay the fee to have a judge come to Kenya, “I understand everyone is asking about what happened to the August cooking marathon? I had three options:
- It takes 12 weeks for the Guinness World Record to verify you!
- I have to pay £10,500 to get an adjudicator to come to Kenya to verify me on the spot.
- Pay $650 to get verified in 5 working days. Now this is where I come in.
I don’t have that type of money! I can even barely reach Sh20,000 in donations from my Till No 8504686. How am I supposed to pay? Therefore I will wait for the Guinness World Record to verify me in 12 weeks time! Patience is key, I have no choice! I hope y’all understood me as I train for my last marathon! Help me raise enough money to pay for the Guinness World Record and bring the record to Kenya,” she shared on her Insta Stories.
On August 15, 2023, Chef Maliha set the new record, “Are you all ready for the new record holder in town? 68 Hours 30 Minutes 02 seconds is the current world record, but we are aiming higher. 90 hours here we come. Sending love and kisses to all that have shown support,” she wrote.
