‘I HAVE NO INTEREST IN POLITICS’ AKOTHEE SPEAKS OUT

Celebrated musician Akothee has called out Migori leaders using her brand to market themselves.

In a lengthy post, Akothee said she is disappointed with Migori leaders, “I am for Migori county, I am not in your campaign teams nor your competition. I am a brand, whatever you want to do with this information is up to you. Well I am very disappointed in Migori leaders. You mean you people are already campaigning for 2027 when Migori has been drugging behind for years. Only known for throwing stones, venereal diseases and bad sexual behaviours.

Come this election, come that election nothing is changing in the face of Migori. With your selfish interest in fulfilling your ambitions and not for the people. Is it not too early to start campaigning? When will you people work for the people who elected you and now you want to put me in your mix of supremacy. Team Nyamita, team Fatuma, respect the brand Akothee and allow me to do the work that brought me here.”

Akothee further stated the county has lost investments because of bad politics, “I was born and raised in Migori county, I was married in Kamagambo, my children vote in Migori county, I have my democratic rights with a brand to protect. The bad politics in Migori has affected our people, no one to show them the right way of politics, we have lost investments, investors due to our bad politics. Let us be diplomatic for once. We want leaders who believe in themselves, not the ones who feel intimidated by people minding their own business.”

She also stated she is not interested in running for any political seat, “I am not in Migori to replace anyone, I have no interest in county politics. I am doing the job I am good at doing and what I was appointed for. From today if you post any of my photos on your political forums without my consent, you will have to pay a marketing fee.

My image is my bread and butter, you won’t use it carelessly for your own political ambitions. If you have any project you need to be marketed and for the people of Migori to know what is available for us, where the facilities that will benefit them are found, then we shall drop you our rate card if you all have enough budgets.”
