‘I’M TIRED OF FAKING AND ACTING OKAY’ NASRA YUSUFF OPENS UP
Kenyan comedian Nasra Yusuff took to social media to open up about her struggles and how it has become too burdensome to bear alone.
In an Instagram Story post, Nasra said she is tired of faking and acting like she is doing well, “I am tired of faking and acting okay. I am not okay, I need help, I need prayers, I need support and I am losing it.” She also added, “I am always there for the rest of the world and now I just need the favour returned whether from a stranger or someone I know.”
Recently, Nasra raised over half a million shillings to feed Kenyans affected by drought in the North Eastern. She visited the region recently and saw how people were struggling to survive without food or water. She decided to start a fundraiser on social media, asking her fans and followers to donate whatever they could to help the drought victims.
She then distributed them to hundreds of families in Wajir County, one of the worst-hit areas by the drought. Yusuf said she was moved by the plight of the people in North Eastern Kenya, who have been neglected by the government for years. She also slammed some leaders from the region for allegedly misusing public funds to build malls instead of addressing the needs of their people.
“So North Eastern leaders can do a Sh50 million plus fundraiser to build a mall but can’t do the same to feed their people? In less than a week, I have used my platform and I have raised over Sh600,000 and fed the people! Retweet this until they see it and go back to their dying people,” Nasra exclaimed.
