WAIHIGA MWAURA WINS INTERNATIONAL ANTI-CORRUPTION EXCELLENCE AWARD
BBC Journalist Waihiga Mwaura has won International Anti-Corruption Excellence Award.
Waihiga received the award for his reporting on corruption in sports, “Who is like our God? Grateful to have received this International Anti-Corruption Excellence Award from @Rolacc and @UNODC in the category of safeguarding sports from corruption, from the Emir of Qatar Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al-Thani and the President of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev.
As a journalist, I spent the first eight years of my career looking at corruption in sports including doping, athlete nationality transfers and corruption at major sports events.”
Mwaura thanked his wife Joyce Omondi for the support, “Grateful to my wife @joyceomondi, family, colleagues and all who I have walked with along this journey for the support.”
