ZARI HASSAN CONFIRMS SEPARATION FROM HUSBAND SHAKIB LUTAAYA

Socialite Zari Hassan has revealed she has parted ways with her Ugandan husband, Shakib Lutaaya.

In an interview with Millard Ayo, Zari disclosed that the decision to separate was mutual, “Shakib and I have had issues before. That is why in November and December, I decided to delete his photos on my Instagram page. We had big issues, and it is not because I did the video that Shakib has left South Africa,” said Zari.

A viral video featuring Zari and her ex-partner Diamond Platnumz surfaced online, sparking widespread attention. Zari acknowledged her husband Shakib’s emotions, expressing remorse for not having a prior discussion with him regarding the video. “I don’t blame him for feeling how he feels. Had I told him before Diamond released the video, he would be okay. Now that he has left, I have decided to give myself some space from the whole situation,” Zari explained.

The reality star and her 31-year-old boyfriend husband wedded in a glamorous wedding ceremony, held in Pretoria, South Africa, on October 3. Videos of her wedding were leaked online, the wedding was attended by top African celebrities and several cast members from the Young, Famous & African reality TV show.

The couple started dating in 2022 and had a traditional wedding in May 2023. In an interview, Zari called him her first official husband as she was only engaged to her baby daddies Ivan Sswemwanga and Diamond Platnumz. After the Nikkah ceremony, Zari set the record straight about how she met Shakib. She admitted that she dated Shakibway back before they went their separate ways only to reunite in 2022.
