ARTIST WAMBUI COLLYMORE REACTS TO MAMMITO’S SKIT ON JOWIE DEATH SENTENCE
Artist Wambui Kamiru Collymore took to her social media page to react to Mammito’s skit on Jowie death sentence.
In a post, Wambui expressed that the video stirred emotions among Kenyans, as it is painful to witness politicians facing murder allegations receiving protection. “On this social media, we have video evidence of murder and assault by folks who have sirens on their cars. And still, they continue to determine our lives.
@mammitoeunice just highlighted how precarious we live. And folks were triggered. The reason the whole thing is triggering is because justice has been served on bro from 1824. It hurts because Mhesh (s) from corridors are protected by politricks. Even when there is video evidence,” said Kamiru.
The comedian was on the spot on Wednesday, March 13 after she posted a skit on her social media platforms, making a ‘light moment’ on Joseph ‘Jowie’ Irungu’s death sentence. The skit came hours after Jowie was handed a death sentence in the murder of Monica Kimani in 2018.
The video triggered Kenyans, who criticised the comedian for making Jowie’s conviction a subject of mockery. Mammito responded by saying,” I have witnessed a very rare occurrence, something that has not happened since 2002. People from every background uniting together for a reason, to cook me.
It gives me hope for the future that one day we shall unite and fight against corruption and other things ailing our country. I’m in a hot fire now, my soul weeps . I am but a small thin woman with no buttocks and am not as attractive, how dare I joke about a beautiful accused person, but your unity, how it fills my soul!”
