CIRU MURIUKI PAYS TRIBUTE TO CHARLES OUDA A MONTH AFTER HIS DEATH
Former BBC journalist Ciru Muriuki took to social media to pen a heartfelt tribute to her late fiancé, Charles ‘Charli’ Ouda.
March 3 marked one month since his passing. In her tribute, Ciru highlighted the profound impact Ouda had on her life, “One month. One month of pain I didn’t think was possible. You were my favorite hello and my hardest goodbye. But there can never be a goodbye between us. Just the longing to see you again. My life will forever be better because you were in it. I love you Ceej. forever and always.” Ciru wrote.
In a tribute during his memorial, Ciru opened up about the unforgettable evening when Charli proposed to her, “I am almost 42 years old and I have never been loved like that before. Charlie saw me. The night he asked me to marry him, we were at his house and I was wearing torn leggings and his t-shirt and he got down on one knee and I cried and to this day, those are the most beautiful nights of my life.” Ciru said.
She thanked him for his kindness and being a true gentleman. “My love, I speak to you, thank you for showing me what true love is, thank you for being the perfect example of a gentleman and a real man, thank you for being the kindest man I have ever known. Thank you for looking after me. It is the privilege of my life to have loved and been loved by you. Charlie, I will miss you until I join you,” Ciru concluded.
