‘I’M BROKEN’ ROBERT NAGILA PAYS TRIBUTE TO PARTNER RITA TININA
On Monday, March 25, Robert Nagila honoured his late partner, journalist Rita Tinina, during a requiem mass held at the Holy Family Basilica in Nairobi.
Nagila said he is broken after the untimely death of Tinina. “The last few days the first question I have received from well-wishers is, how are you doing? As I stand here today, the answer to that question is, I am broken. We are all here because Rita impacted our lives in a special way. Rita, when our paths first crossed, your beauty, hearty laughter and warm heart touched me. You were also the most stubborn person I ever met. Principled in your beliefs,” he narrated.
Nagila noted that the void Rita left in his heart could not be filled. “Last Sunday your phone stopped ringing. Your passing has left a void that cannot be filled. But I am comforted with the fact the numeric of times spent will live on,” he said.
He regretted that she did not live to celebrate her 46th birthday, “We all spend our lifetime chasing a legacy that we hope to be remembered for. It is remarkable that I find Rita Tinina established her legacy just shy of her 46th birthday. We are all here because Rita impacted our lives in a special way,” he said.
Rita will be buried at their family home in Narok on Wednesday, March 27. She leaves behind an 8-year-old daughter.
