SAUTI SOL’S BIEN BARAZA SLAMS K24’S APRIL FOOLS POST ON DAVIDO
Sauti Sol’s Bien-Aimé Baraza, has voiced his disappointment over K24’s recent April Fools’ post concerning Nigerian superstar Davido.
In a post on his X account, Bien said there is a lack of wisdom and fundamental media ethics within the country’s media landscape. “There is lacking of conventional wisdom and basic media ethics in the country. As a journalist myself, I am appalled by K24’s thoughtless and crass post about Davido. The media in Kenya must shape up or perish!” Bien wrote.
In a statement, dated Tuesday, April 2 the musician noted that he did not appreciate the story which was part of the broadcaster’s April Fools’ Day editorial offering.
“I’d also like to note that I have never been arrested by anyone in any country for any crime in the world. Not my home Nigeria, my home America, or any of the hundreds of countries I’ve made home throughout my career.
I find the fabrication of allegations of such international crimes extremely irresponsible regardless of the light of ‘April Fools’, and my lawyer is seeking legal recourse against the media parties responsible for generating this misinformation,” Davido stated.
