TERRYANNE CHEBET CELEBRATES DAUGHTER’S 18TH BIRTHDAY

TV personality Terryanne Chebet, has marked a significant milestone as her daughter, Imani, celebrates her 18th birthday.

In a touching tribute, Chebet shared a poem, reflecting on their journey together. “A poem for Imani on her 18th birthday. Your name, Imani, was an easy pick for us. And it has been a beautiful journey of faith through the years. It feels as though it were just yesterday when we chose it. At the hospital, I held you, oh you were a perfect face! Dispelling all my fears, oh, how beautiful little you were.”

Chebet acknowledges the moments where she may have faltered as a mother, “We’ve journeyed side by side, you and I. Through highs and lows beneath the sky. For some of the horrid mother moments, I must apologise, I was growing up too and you bore the brunt of mum Not yet so ready. Accept my gratitude for your unwavering faith in us.”

She added, “A roller coaster ride, our life has been, from Greece’s shores to give Gilgil’s chilly evenings and Grahamtown’s donkey and potholes. Memories we’ve woven, both big and small. Lost passports, camping in your school fields, random lunches in quaint restaurants or visiting high end homes. We couldn’t could not afford. What a sport you are!”

Terryanne’s heart is full of pride for the remarkable woman her daughter has become. “My darling you are a champ, through and through. Tough, smart, funny with a sass that’s true. You’ve been my rock, my guiding light in darkness you’ve shown so pure and bright.

Through laughter and tears, you’ve held my hand. Together we have weathered life shifting sand. As you turn 18, my heart swells with pride. For the woman you become the incredible sister you are to Talaa.” 

She encourages Imani to embrace each moment and seize the opportunities that lie ahead. “With each passing day you’ve grown and soared. With your brilliance, the world is better with you in it. So spread your wings, my love, and take flight. Know that I’ll be here, you’re beacon in the night, for you my dear daughter, the world’s at your feet, embrace each moment, your journey’s so sweet. Happy 18th birthday darling!”
