ACTOR WINNIE BWIRE WARNS SUPPORTERS OF FAKE FUNDRAISING ACCOUNTS

By  |

Popular Sultana actor Winnie Bwire Ndubi recently took to social media to thank her supporters for their encouragement and support as she battles breast cancer.

Thank you, humans, most of you are inboxing me asking if we’re done with the fundraiser. Thank you so much for following up and giving me the push and support needed. Being human, emotional fatigue combined with physical fatigue isn’t the best recipe for online activities. Thank you so much for reaching out. I sure feel loved and cherished. I’m encouraged by how enthusiastic you humans are where I’m concerned. God has been good to me. We shall overcome.”

However, Ndubi also took the opportunity to warn her supporters about a potential scam. A fake account had been created to solicit funds under false pretences. She clarified that there are only two legitimate channels for contributions: MPESA Number: 0716 231 933 (Account holder: Jacobeth Walloga) and Medical Fund Paybill: 4074668 (Account: BN).

I want to thank everyone for their support, but I also need to alert you about a scammer who tried to con some of my supporters by creating a fake account and asking for money. Please ensure you use only the official contribution portals I have mentioned,” Ndubi stated.

The actress has been battling cancer for years, “All we have to do is let people in on the process. It takes a Village to do absolutely anything. Anyway before I bore you with my long post, I’m coming to the only village I know, please take a moment to stand with me on this journey of recovery by donating anything you can to help me reach the required goal of Sh7 million. Your support will be highly valued. God Bless you.”
