ACTRESS MAMA NYAGUTHII ENCOURAGES WOMEN TO LEAVE TOXIC RELATIONSHIPS
Papa Shirandula actress Mary Airo popularly known as Mama Nyaguthii has talked about the importance of self awareness in relationships, urging women to prioritise their well-being and safety over maintaining toxic partnerships.
In her statement, Mama Nyaguthii said, “In as much as we should protect the family unit, if a relationship is not working then the best thing is to part ways. Being in a toxic relationship is as bad as taking poison.
You may end up losing your life in the name of love or marriage. Or in the name of protecting the children. When you are dead and your spouse goes to prison, who remains to protect the children?”
Drawing from personal experiences, the actress highlighted the tragic outcomes of staying in toxic relationships, “I saw enough killings of passion in my childhood that made me radical when it comes to relationships. If it’s not working, move and meet the next person.
So many good looking and loving men out here and many beautiful and caring women out here. Kanyaga kubwa kubwa tukisonga. Live to tell the story. #StopSGBV”
