KING KAKA SPEAKS ON FORGIVING HIS FATHER FOR DOMESTIC VIOLENCE
Rapper King Kaka has opened up about forgiving his late father.
The musician acknowledged the pain and bitterness stemmed from witnessing domestic violence as a child. “When dad died when I was in class 7, I had beef with him because I saw him beating my mum, and that’s how they separated,” King Kaka recalled.
He further added, “I was bitter with my dad. When I became King Kaka, one of the things I wished for was to forgive him. That’s why I did the song ‘Papa’. Before that song, I had not talked about my dad anywhere—I was bitter.“
He shared that recording the song helped him confront his feelings and ultimately find peace. “I went to my mum and told her I have forgiven her boyfriend, and I wished he was here because we grew up poor. Right now, if my mother wants anything, she can get it.”
