WILLY PAUL OPENS UP ABOUT HIS BEEF WITH DIAMOND PLATNUMZ
Popular Kenyan musician Willy Paul has shed light on his beef with Tanzanian superstar Diamond Platnumz.
In an interview, Willy Paul explained the events that led to the rift between them. “I flew to Tanzania with Clemo of Calif Records. We had a sit-down with Diamond and his managers, Babu Tale and Sallam. We agreed we would record two songs. I came back to Kenya and sent the tracks. I don’t know what happened because during the meeting, he was okay.”
Willy Paul expressed his disappointment in the lack of promotional support from Diamond Platnumz, “Diamond used to promote songs that his artists did on his social media page. I did a song with Harmonize and he did not promote it, I even contacted him. I did another one with Rayvanny, he also didn’t post. Yet he used to post the songs they did with other artists.”
Reflecting on the situation, Willy Paul said that Diamond saw him as a threat to his music career, “I asked myself why he didn’t want to be associated with my song. Maybe it’s because his fans would see another artist as good as Diamond, and it will spoil his business.”
