‘I AM BLIND, BUT I WILL BE ON THE STREETS’ MUSICIAN REUBEN KIGAME DECLARES
Politician and musician Reuben Kigame, has issued a call to action against the proposed Finance Bill.
Despite his blindness, he announced his intention to lead a peaceful protest in Eldoret to reject the Finance Bill, which he believes unfairly targets vulnerable populations, including those who rely on wheelchairs. “Folks, I am blind, but I will be on the streets to take my country back. I will not allow wheelchairs to be taxed,” Kigame declared.
The musician called on young people speaking out against injustices, urging them to join him in the protest. “Young people, don’t fear to speak out. I will be with you on the streets. This is the day. Let one and all arise, in a common bond united.”
Kigame called for the protest to be the most peaceful demonstration the town has ever seen, ensuring that participants respect others’ property and businesses.
“Eldoret, this is the most peaceful protest they will see. Don’t touch anybody’s thing and don’t go into anybody’s business. Dress code is black. 10 AM it is. ‘O God of all creation, Bless this our land and nation…… Justice be our shield and defender.’
#RejectFinanceBill Eldoret, we are ready! We have a date with destiny. Let us bring this town to a standstill. Our message will be heard. It’s time to take our country back.”
