‘IT GETS LONELY BEING A SUPERSTAR’ AKOTHEE CONFESSES

Renowned Kenyan musician Akothee, has talked about the isolation that comes with being a celebrity. 

In a social media post, Akothee, revealed the deep loneliness she experiences despite her immense success. “It gets so lonely being a superstar. Trust you me, at times I miss riding on a matatu with zero attention,” Akothee expressed. 

The singer, who has always been open about her journey and struggles, continued to share that the isolation has led her to seek comfort in her family, “It’s been soo lonely that I moved into my  sister in-laws house and my children’s homes. At times I even wonder why I have to pay fees or take care of children I didn’t give birth to.” 

Akothee admitted to feeling tired and drained, “If you can still see my posts, just type Amen. I feel tired and drained. I need nothing but a hug.”
