PHOTOGRAPHER EMMANUEL JAMBO WEDS FASHION DESIGNER KATUNGULU MWENDWA

Renowned photographer Emmanuel Jambo has tied the knot with his longtime love, fashion designer Katungulu Mwendwa, in an intimate beach ceremony at Papa Remo Beach in Watamu. The exclusive event held on August 23 was attended by close friends and family, with Sauti Sol’s Bien and Chimano performing at the celebration.

Fashion designer Adele Dejak took to social media to congratulate the couple, writing, “About yesterday. Stunning wedding vibes in beautiful Watamu. Congratulations Katush & Emmanuel. May the passion & love never fade. @katungulumwendwa @emmanueljambo.”

Celebrated fashion stylist Connie Aluoch also shared her well wishes, stating, “Love is a beautiful thing ❤️🙏😊 Congratulations to #Katush & Emmanuel on their special day! 💍✨ Weddings are such a vibeeeee! Wishing you a lifetime of joy and happiness together! 💍✨ #WeddingVibes #LoveWins.”

Jambo, often referred to as the ‘president’s photographer’, gained widespread recognition for his iconic portrait of President William Ruto. His portfolio also includes photographs of former President Uhuru Kenyatta, further solidifying his reputation as one of the top photographers in the region.

Katungulu is celebrated for her timeless, transcendent casual and semi-formal designs that transcend seasons. Operating from her Nairobi studio, she blends modern techniques, innovative fabrics, and traditional methods to create her unique pieces. Her work has been showcased on international platforms including Paris, New York, Portugal, Lagos, and Mozambique Fashion Week. 

Recently, her brand was one of three businesses selected for the Ethical Fashion Initiative’s Kenya Accelerator Program, and her designs were exhibited at the Victoria and Albert Museum in London as part of the Africa Fashion exhibition, as well as at the Brooklyn Museum in New York.
