LILIAN NG’ANG’A PAYS EMOTIONAL TRIBUTE TO LATE DRIVER
Lilian Ng’ang’a recently took to social media to honour her late driver, Philip, who passed away in 2017.
“Wish you were still here. Philip, 7 years gone, yet sometimes I still catch myself calling my driver Philip. Never forgotten! My driver, Philip, passed away seven years ago. Anyone who’s had a driver knows the significant role they play in your life,” she said.
Adding, “I still mourn him, and it’s hard not to compare the drivers I’ve had since him. What brings me comfort is knowing that he understood how much I valued and appreciated him. Good people are never forgotten,” she wrote.
In 2017, while serving as the First Lady of Machakos County, Lilian tragically lost Philip in a fatal accident. The accident occurred shortly after Philip had dropped her off. He was involved in a head-on collision on the Nairobi-Mombasa highway when the saloon car he was driving was struck by a Toyota Land Cruiser.
According to police reports, the crash happened in the Lukenya area after the Land Cruiser’s driver, heading toward Nairobi, attempted to overtake another vehicle and crashed into Philip’s car, which was registered to the Machakos County Government.
