LUPITA NYONG’O EXCITED TO VOTE FOR THE FIRST TIME IN U.S. ELECTION

Oscar award winning actress Lupita Nyong’o has revealed she will be voting for the first time in the upcoming U.S. election on November 5, 2024. 

As a newly naturalised American citizen, Nyong’o is embracing her right to vote with pride. In a statement shared on her social media platforms, Nyong’o expressed her excitement: “Important life update: I will be voting for the very first time in my life in the U.S. election this year! Historically, while I have been eligible to vote in my home country, Kenya, I have not been able to participate from abroad (the country does not accommodate absentee voting). But this November 5, 2024, I will VOTE as a new American citizen, and I am very excited and honored to exercise that right. That makes me a Virgin Voter!“

Nyong’o also called upon others who are voting for the first time, ‘#VirginVoters’ to represent those like herself who are eager to cast their first ballot. She encouraged fellow citizens to confirm their voter registration status and ensure they are prepared for Election Day.
