JULIE GICHURU BIDS FAREWELL TO MASTERCARD FOUNDATION AFTER 5 YEARS OF SERVICE

Renowned media personality Julie Gichuru has announced her departure from the Mastercard Foundation, where she served in a leadership role for close to five years.

In a heartfelt message, Gichuru shared her appreciation for the time spent working with the Foundation and the impactful work she and her team accomplished. “I am deeply humbled and honoured to have served the incredible mission of the Mastercard Foundation for close to five years. Over that period, I have worked with incredibly smart, kind, committed, and impactful teams,” Gichuru said.

Gichuru played a pivotal role in advancing the Foundation’s mission to promote inclusive development across Africa. “This is a testament to the fact that workplaces do not need to be hard and mechanical to be efficient and effective. Indeed, it is often the courage to lead with a human touch that drives the most committed and productive teams.”

She is optimistic  about continuing her advocacy for the transformation of Africa and championing the voices of indigenous peoples and marginalised communities. “While we move on from working directly together, we will still be walking together on similar missions to see a transformed Africa, and greater global consciousness around the voice and agency of indigenous peoples, local communities, and those who are most marginalised,” she added.
