SUSAN KAITTANY TO BE AUCTIONED OVER UNPAID PODCAST PRODUCTION DEBT
Real Housewives of Nairobi star Susan Kaittany risks losing assets worth over Sh500,000 after auctioneers seized property from her Posh Palace Hair Studio and Spa to recover a debt of Sh45,500.
A ruling by the Milimani Small Claims Court on August 1, 2024, ordered Kaittany, CEO of Posh Palace, to settle the amount owed to Stephen Murithi Mutua, proprietor of Blueberry Africa. Mutua had sued Kaittany over unpaid fees for producing her podcast, Dangerously Honest.
According to court documents, Blueberry Africa recorded and produced the podcast at Dusit Princess Hotel on June 7, 2023, providing additional services such as mixing, editing, and sound design. Mutua invoiced Kaittany Sh40,500 on July 26, 2023, but claims repeated attempts to collect payment were met with excuses and disregard.
After issuing a demand letter on August 18, 2023, which Kaittany ignored, Mutua filed the case. On August 1, Magistrate Kiongo Kagenyo ruled in Mutua’s favour, awarding Sh40,500 plus 12.5 percent annual interest and Sh15,000 in costs.
By the time auctioneers raided Posh Palace on November 6, 2024, the debt had increased to Sh61,984. Seized items included salon equipment like hair dryers, steamers, and chairs, alongside an invoice of Sh38,600 for auction fees.
Kaittany, a former Miss Earth Kenya 2005, gained fame on The Real Housewives of Nairobi in 2023 but did not return for its second season in 2024.
