FORMER MISS WORLD KENYA WAVINYA MARIA DENIES BEING ON DATING SITE
Former Miss World Kenya Wavinya Maria has strongly denied allegations of being spotted on a dating site.
Her statement comes after blogger Edgar Obare claimed on social media, “Wavinya Maria spotted on a dating site as her technically married husband faces court battles. #wavinyamaria #bnnbasic.”
The former beauty queen has clarified that she has no association with any dating platforms and called for the public to avoid falling victim to fraudulent activities involving her identity. “Enough! Y’all need to give me a break. There are so many profiles using my photos, and I know this because people have come complaining after getting swindled. I will not stand for this misinformation anymore. Kindly fact-check before selling your narratives.”
Wavinya and popular Nairobi motor vehicle entrepreneur Joseph Kairo Wambui, also known as Khalif Kairo, publicly confirmed their relationship a few months ago. However, Kairo recently made headlines after being arraigned at the Milimani Law Courts on January 13, 2025 facing accusations of defrauding two clients of Sh2.1 million and Sh2.9 million, respectively.
The charges allege that Kairo, through his company Kai & Karo Limited, deceived Jeff Kyule Munane into paying Ksh2.15 million between July 10 and July 29, 2024, for a Honda Vezel Hybrid that was never delivered.
Adding to the speculation, Wavinya was notably absent from the court proceedings, and rumours of a possible break up have gained traction after she reportedly deleted photos of herself and Kairo from her Instagram and TikTok accounts.
