GOVERNOR SAKAJA HOSTS 10-YEAR MEMORIAL OF FIDEL ODINGA
Nairobi Governor, Johnson Sakaja hosted a memorial to mark the 10th anniversary of Fidel Odinga’s passing, honouring the life and legacy of the late firstborn son of Raila and Ida Odinga.
Fidel, a unifying figure in the Odinga family and a beloved friend to many, passed away on January 4, 2015. The event, organised by Fidel’s close friends led by Sir Henry Otiende and Joash Omino, brought together those who cherished him to reflect on his life.
Joash who served as president of the Friends of Fidel Club for the past decade, officially stepped down, passing the mantle to Governor Sakaja. The evening saw Joash Omino, Tom Alila, and Governor Sakaja recalling their fathers’ close ties. Joab Omino a Chairman of KFF, Mr. Alila Secretary of KFF, and Sakaja’s father the Treasurer of KFF worked together.
The memorial reached its emotional peak when former Prime Minister Raila Odinga made a live call to the gathering via the public address system.
