KEN MIJUNGU OFFERS ADVICE TO KHALIF KAIRO AMID LEGAL TROUBLES
Media personality and entrepreneur Ken Mijungu has weighed in on the ongoing legal and financial challenges facing car dealer Khalif Kairo.
In a statement, Mijungu shared his insights on car business and offered advice to Kairo, urging him to reset and refocus his energy. Mijungu, who has over 14 years of experience in the car business, spoke openly about the difficulties of managing such a venture, especially when handling other people’s money. He said that while Kairo has great potential, his current approach may be increasing his problems.
He shared his own experiences, including importing cars and managing a showroom near the I&M building, which eventually led him to his current ventures. “Those who know the showroom that was close to I&M building, we used to put cars there. In fact, that is what birthed my current or business. I would not sell them then I started renting them out. A lot of people will tell you, I’ve imported cars for them, including very prominent people. So I understand this car business like the back of my hand. Let no one lie to you.” Mijungu revealed.
The media personality urged Kairo to acknowledge his mistakes and take a step back to reassess his business strategy. He cautioned against the temptation to spend money before delivering the vehicles. “This is what has messed you up, and messes the better of us. That money is sweet. It’s very enticing, because you received Sh3 million today, tomorrow another Sh5 million. There’s that temptation to eat then it gets to a point that the money is not coming as fast as you’re spending it.”
Mijungu shared his concern over Kairo’s approach of crowdfunding from Kenyans to resolve his financial issues. He warned that this could lead to further complications, as contributors may feel entitled to a stake in his business. “Asking Kenyans to donate their hard earned money to rescue you. Do they have stakes in your business?”
He advised Kairo to seek mentorship and focus on rebuilding his business with a more mature and disciplined approach. He also pointed out that Kairo’s public persona and extravagant lifestyle may have contributed to his current predicament.
“The only problem that Khalif Kairo had is you spoke too much, you did too much, you showed too much. And that’s why even these guys who gave you money are after you, because they’ve seen how you splash money, flying all over the globe, doing those things that people would just wish to do, and it’s coming out that you didn’t deliver and probably you ate their money. There are mentors in this business, I can direct you to one.”
