KHALIF KAIRO ARRESTED FOR THE THIRD TIME, CLAIMS TARGETED SABOTAGE AGAINST HIS BUSINESS
Popular car dealer Khalif Kairo has been arrested for the third time, a development he claims is part of a coordinated effort to frustrate him, push him out of business, and damage his reputation.
In a statement following his arrest, Kairo said”, There’s a well-coordinated effort to frustrate me, hound me out of business, and sabotage whatever we have built. It will not work. Arrest me even 100 times, but I don’t think I will relent. I will keep pushing, keep inspiring, and keep winning.”
Kairo dismissed allegations labelling him and his company as fraudulent. “The real objective here is to ensure that our image is completely damaged so that we will never be able to transact again. It won’t work,” he added.
Addressing the intense media scrutiny around his case, he stated that bloggers and mainstream media have been deliberately used to paint him in a negative light. “Do you ever ask yourself why bloggers and the media are really obsessed with my case? Every single issue gets prime-time coverage. These people are on payroll with very strict instructions to ensure we completely shut down.”
He talked about the challenges of competing against well-funded firms, some backed by venture capitalists and others allegedly financed by illicit proceeds. “We are competing with companies funded by VCs, others by proceeds of illicit money and others that are owned by guys who have stayed in the industry for decades. Despite those odds, we still made it here, I believe with the right funding and support, we can do it even better.”
Kairo also shut down claims that he stole people’s money, “We are struggling with vehicle deliveries not because we ‘stole’ money, but due to a combination of many factors, including external sabotage and aggressive growth with limited access to capital. This happens to many startups, but I am confident we have found a solution.”
