Renowned media personality and actress Janet Mbugua, who stars as the governor in the hit Netflix series Kash Money, has shared her thoughts on the boundaries she sets as an actress, particularly when it comes to nude or intimate scenes

In a recent interview with Cheptoek Boyo on Buzz Central Podcast, Janet candidly discussed how her personal values, role as a mother, and evolving faith influence her choices in the roles she takes on.

Janet, who has been widely praised for her portrayal of the powerful and complex governor in Kash Money, said that while she is committed to her craft, there are certain lines she is not willing to cross.

You know, sometimes there’s something that you would say, this is acting, but I think because I have my kids and my priorities are a bit different, it would be difficult for me to do it,” she explained. “Also, I’m constantly trying to evolve my faith. So those two factors would make it difficult for me to do it.

She acknowledged that there are many ways to express a character’s depth and complexity without resorting to explicit scenes. She praised the writers of Kash Money for their ability to handle sensitive topics tastefully, even when pushing boundaries. “I think there are many other ways that we can express such a character, but I don’t want to get too into it because I already think the writers of Kash Money did such a good job, even with all the characters, whether they were doing stuff that was kinky or doing stuff that was criminal. I think the way it was written was tastefully done, even though some of the scenes really pushed the boundary.

The media personality also highlighted the importance of collaboration and communication between actors, producers, and directors when it comes to navigating such decisions. “I feel like I would have to sit down and have a conversation about it at the same time. Let’s see how to negotiate and reach a middle ground as to what the character can and can’t do. A lot of the time, it’s really up to the producers and the directors.
