SANAIPEI TANDE ON REJECTING LGBTQ, NUDE AND KISSING ROLES
Celebrated Kenyan actress Sanaipei Tande has made it clear that there are certain things she will never do on screen.
Speaking in an interview on the Buzz Central Podcast with Cheptoek Boyo, the entertainer outlined four firm boundaries she upholds in her acting career. “I won’t kiss on the lips, that one I will not do even if that is what I’m required to do for my character. I will not do LGBTQ roles, as much as I’m very neutral about that. You know, that’s people’s business. And I will not imply sex, whether I’m dating or not on the show it does not matter for me. And nudity. Those are the four things that I will not do.“
Sanaipei explained that her decision is influenced by how audiences perceive actors beyond their roles. She noted that some viewers get so engrossed in characters that they struggle to separate fiction from reality, even going as far as directing personal hatred toward actors who play villains. “Even if they brought me a body double for a nude scene, that person out there is always going to know that this was the person who went naked,” she said.
The Kash Money actor said that she is content with the trajectory of her career and will not cross personal boundaries for any role. “I also don’t believe that is what I have to do to get ahead. So for me, that’s crossing the line. I’m very happy where I am right now,” she concluded.
