ACTOR WAKIO MZENGE DIRECTS RADIO DRAMA ICE LIONS

Celebrated Kenyan actor and director Wakio Mzenge has stepped into the world of radio drama with her project, Ice Lions a gripping underdog story now streaming on GZM Shows Imagination Amplified. The first episode premiered this week, with new installments releasing every Wednesday.

Ice Lions follows the journey of a determined Kenyan boy who defies expectations by rallying a team around his unlikely dream: ice hockey. Mzenge describes it as “a powerful ‘Go for it’ story” one that celebrates resilience, teamwork, and the audacity to pursue the impossible.

Mzenge talked about the project, stating: “I can’t keep calm. I directed a radio drama!!! Episode 1 is out!!!” She praised her diverse cast a mix of novice, intermediate, and professional voice actors for their openness to her creative vision: “They gracefully allowed me to guide their delivery and interpretation of the text. What a pleasant experience!”
