Blue Origin’s
New Shepard rocket soared into space carrying an all-female crew that included global pop icon Katy Perry, media personality Gayle King, NASA scientist Aisha Bowe, former journalist Lauren Sánchez and a movie producer Kerianne Flynn.

The mission, dubbed Galactic Dream, marked a defining moment in space tourism as it united entertainment, journalism, and science in a single voyage beyond Earth’s atmosphere. Liftoff occurred at 9:30 AM ET from Blue Origin’s Van Horn launch facility, with spectators including Oprah WinfreyNASA astronaut Jeanette Epps, and other VIPs witnessing the historic event.

The crew experienced approximately 10 minutes of weightlessness, crossing the Kármán line the internationally recognised threshold of space at 62 miles above Earth. Inside the capsule, the women celebrated with zero-gravity acrobatics.

The five women safely returned to Earth after reaching space aboard Jeff Bezos’s Blue Origin rocket.
