Renowned gospel musician and philanthropist Wilfred Andabwa, popularly known as Ole Willy, has been on a mission across Rwanda and Goma in Congo, empowering communities.

Talking to Buzz Central, Ole Willy shared, My inspiration comes from my deep faith and desire to make a positive impact in the lives of others. The Lord called me to share the gospel and empower the younger generation in decision-making, leadership, and faith.” His work focuses on spiritual guidance, humanitarian aid, and training young missionaries to carry forward the message of hope.

This mission has reshaped Ole Willy’s perspective on his career as an artist. “It has shifted my focus from entertainment alone to using my art and influence to support humanitarian causes,” he explains. His music now carries the stories and rhythms of the communities he serves, blending Kenyan sounds with the vibrant cultural expressions of Rwanda, Congo, Burundi, Mozambique, and beyond.

Working in conflict zones like Goma has not been without difficulties. “Addressing the needs of displaced families providing food, shelter, and medication has been tough,” he admits. Yet, through collaboration and  faith, Ole Willy and his team continue to bring relief and hope to those in desperate situations.

The musician has connected with local artists and is working on an ambitious project 200 songs by 10 artists set to release by 2026. Collaborating with local talents is a powerful way to reflect the region’s culture and values,” he says.

He encourages his followers to seek purpose and uplift others in their own communities. Your faith in me motivates me to keep spreading love and hope. Let’s rise above division and ask God to lead us in every step.”

This journey has changed his heart. “Witnessing the resilience of these communities has taught me humility and the power of selfless service,” he reflects. He is more determined than ever to spread faith and train others to do the same.
