Popular TikToker Maria Wangari Kamunge, also known as Rish Kamunge, has spoken out for the first time about her time behind bars after being arrested on fraud charges related to her job placement agency.

In an emotional interview with content creator Obidan Dela, Kamunge revealed the stark reality of life in custody. You do not have anything, you do not even have your phone. I was like let the will of God be done and I prayed,” she shared.

The social media star disclosed that visitation rights were severely restricted due to the nature of her case. “Getting visitors was nearly impossible, only my lawyers had access. I was shocked when Obidan showed up. Of all people, you were the last I expected to see. I actually thought you came for a story,” Kamunge admitted.

Kamunge described the detention facility as far from pleasant but maintained she had endured tougher situations in life. “It’s not a good place, but I’ve faced worse. When you’re inside, you have no idea if you’ll be granted bail or sent to remand,” she explained.

The has been granted a bond of Ksh.5 million after she was arrested and arraigned over fraud allegations. Kamunge, operating under the name Trustpine Verified Agent Ltd, is accused of promising Kenyans job opportunities abroad in exchange for payments ranging from Ksh.200,000 to Ksh.300,000. However, after receiving the money, she allegedly failed to deliver on her promises and became unreachable.
