KBC JOURNALIST ALVIN KAUNDA DIAGNOSED WITH RARE ADULT-ONSET STILL’S DISEASE (AOSD)
KBC journalist Alvin Kaunda who charmed the internet when a baby elephant playfully tickled him during a live report, has revealed his recent diagnosis with Adult-Onset Still’s Disease (AOSD).
In an emotional social media post, Kaunda shared his health challenges. Kaunda, known for his vibrant storytelling and infectious love for wildlife, disclosed that he has been quietly battling AOSD a rare autoimmune disorder, while also grieving the loss of his father.
“Life’s been throwing some heavy punches, fighting AOSD, grieving my Dad, and some friends I thought would still be here. It hasn’t been easy. But I’m still here. Breathing. Smiling. Healing. To everyone who’s been checking in, sending love, and sticking around, thank you so so much!” he wrote.
Kaunda thanked his fans for their support acknowledging that he couldn’t respond to every message, “I’m taking time to heal, but I’ll be back soon with the kind of content that speaks from the heart (and maybe a little elephant dust too). Until then, stay kind. Stay wild.”
