KENYA’S SHUJAA FINISH SECOND IN SINGAPORE 7S
In a dramatic conclusion to the Singapore 7s tournament, Kenya’s national rugby team fell just short of glory, losing 12-21 to Fiji in a spirited final at the Singapore National Stadium.
Kenya had fought to reach the championship match, beginning their campaign with a hard-earned 17-7 victory over Ireland on Saturday, April 5. They followed this up with a 10-7 triumph against France, securing top spot in Group B. However, their most gripping performance came in Sunday’s semi-final against Spain a fiercely contested battle that saw Kenya edge their opponents 12-5.
The title decider started brightly for the Shujaas, who capitalized on an early penalty to score the opening try, taking a 7-0 lead into halftime. But Fiji, renowned for their explosive speed and tactical brilliance, roared back in the second half, making it 21-7. The match ended with Kenya losing 12-21 to Fiji.
