SINGLE KIASI PRODUCER GRACE KAHAKI REVEALS WHY KENYAN AUDIENCES LOVE THE HIT SHOW
Grace Kahaki, the powerhouse co-producer behind Showmax’s most-watched drama Single Kiasi, has broken her silence on the show’s explosive popularity with Kenyan audiences.
Speaking during a recent appearance on Buzz Central Podcast with host Cheptoek Boyo. She said, “The show is relatable because it’s about dating in your 30s in Nairobi,” Kahaki explained. “As someone who has dated in Kenya they will put you through all the character development and everything. There is Nothing that women have not seen if you are dating the male species, they have seen it all.“
The producer credits the show’s authenticity to its incredible writers’ room, “What I love about our writers room is we have these workshops and 90 percent of the writers are women in their 30s. That’s why it’s relatable: everyone comes in the room with ideas of stuff that has happened we just add to it. These stories are authentic and true to life.”
